Just for Blog’s Sake…

anberlin isn’t in town… but they will be next month! i basically wanted to post something and didn’t feel like making a new banner for the post, like i usually do! call me lazy but i’m trying to work on a logo that i have come up with nothing of value so far, so i want to get back to that…

the reason I used the anberlin banner is because i wanted to post something i read on the lead singers blog, The Modesty Writers Guild. there is a lot of good stuff on his blog, as i mentioned in a previous post. so if you are in a mood to think and really search your heart after reading his posts, head on over there!

i read this post earlier, and it really caught my attention. these emotions and feelings are normal associated with the negative. but this benediction puts them into a new perspective! these are things we all should be praying:

A Franciscan Benediction

May God bless you with discomfort
At easy answers, half-truths, and superficial relationships
So that you may live deep within your heart

May God bless you with anger
At injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people,
So that you may work for justice, freedom and peace.

May God bless you with tears
To shed for those who suffer pain, rejection, hunger and war,
So that you may reach out your hand to comfort them and
To turn their pain into joy.

And may God bless you with enough foolishness
To believe that you can make a difference in the world,
So that you can do what others claim cannot be done
To bring justice and kindness to all our children and the poor.

My brother, the Sarge!

some of you know and some of you don’t. but my brother, Andrew is back overseas for his second tour. he’s in Iraq this time.

keep him in your prayers and such!

My first tattoo…

i’ve been getting a lot of requests to see my tattoo so i figured i’d throw a picture up here. i was going to take it with my camera, but its dead. tried the cell phone, but it sucks. so here is a pic of my brother Drew and his tattoo, which is the same thing, same place as mine.

we got it for 2 reasons:

1. we had a great friend, Aaron Huth, who unfortunately past away just over 4 years ago. we were in a band together and spent a great deal of time with him outside of the band stuff. he was as original as they come, if you didn’t know him you could hang out with him and he’d make you feel as if you’d known him all your life. this was his first tattoo and we wanted to remember him with it.
2. the tattoo is in hebrew, it reads “forgiven” or “He forgave”. faith is something that is a big part of my life. and i believe that Jesus Christ, the son of God, came to die for all of our sins and by dying on the cross, forgave everything and anything we have done wrong.
